Brené Brown is a researcher from the University of Houston who studies vulnerability, courage, guilt, and shame. She has several popular books outlining the results of her research and how to apply it to everyday life. This TED Talk outlines her original journey and findings and how it affected her own vulnerability and remains one of the most watched TED Talks.
How she sums up vulnerability:
“Waking up every day and loving someone who may or may not love us back, whose safety we can’t ensure, who may stay in our lives or may leave without a moment’s notice, who may be loyal to the day they die or betray us tomorrow – that’s vulnerability.”
