Aegis Counseling
Helping highly motivated people ages 13 and older make positive changes

About

Compassion. Experience. Ethics.

History

The name Aegis Counseling is inspired by Greek mythology and the goddess Athena.  The Aegis is Athena's breastplate and represents protection, wisdom and comfort.  We strive to embrace these qualities and incorporate them in our practice.

Barbara Coleman and Tara Haidinger met in graduate school at Angelo State University while they both were pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.  While they both have varied education and life experience, they have a passion for counseling and working with people. Through their combined efforts, they have brought on additional clinicians and support personnel to Aegis Counseling to grow to meet the needs of those they serve in West Texas.

Office Administrator

Stephanie Rhodes, RMA

Stephanie Rhodes graduated with honors from Keiser University in 2012 with an AS degree in medical assisting. She has always loved helping people and knew from the time she was incredibly young she wanted to work in the medical field. She got her start by managing a small marriage and family therapy practice where she learned how to run every department and developed a true passion for working in the field of mental health. After several years of growing that practice into something amazing, she was able to realize her dream of doing what she does best from her own home office all while being a full-time mom to her two amazing kids, Billy and Zoe. She feels truly blessed to have found a way to be the kind of mom she wants to be, all while being fulfilled and challenged professionally.
